Recently the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners clarified the need for registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Services were voluntarily suspended by the majority of tongue tie practitioners whilst the details were determined. Now most of us have successfully registered with the CQC and are supporting families who choose to have a tongue tie release privately, particularly where the NHS service provision is inadequate.
It has become evident that NHS staff are being actively instructed not to share the details of the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners or even that there is a private option.
This is obviously not in the interests of families who may then abandon breast feeding as they are unable to access a timely service.
Please share your knowledge of these services with friends and families to ensure they may make informed choice regarding care.
