This appointment includes a comprehensive review of you and your baby's medical history, a physical assessment and support with infant feeding focusing on parents who wish to breast or bottle feed their baby. My aim is to find out why your baby is struggling to achieve a calm and effective feed and to consider ways to support improvements in feeding.

Facilitating baby’s latch to the breast/chest
There are many positions to feed your baby but the principles are always the same. Babytobreast prefers a baby led approach wherever possible to optimise the baby taking the lead.
Concerns regarding milk supply and supplementation
In order to address supply issues it is important to identify the potential root cause of the problem. Then we can put in a plan together with realistic expectations.

Many mums find themselves trapped using nipple shields in an attempt to support the latch and continue to breast feed. This is often with negative consequences. Our approach is to find out why this step was taken and treat or address the cause of the poor latch.
