This week, I had the privilege of attending the Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners Conference in Birmingham. A critical topic of discussion was the concerning statistic that one-third of babies born with a cleft palate are not diagnosed during the newborn examination. In response to this, we at Babytobreast have taken the initiative to ensure comprehensive examinations for all infants, aiming to identify cases that may be overlooked by the NHS.

As part of this commitment, you will be routinely asked for permission to conduct a gentle examination of your baby. Whenever feasible, this examination will be performed using a high-quality light source and a small sterile spatula placed on the tongue, allowing for a thorough visual assessment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we strive to provide the best possible care for your little one.
